# What is Multi-Asset Collateral

Multi-Asset Collateral lets eligible deposited assets - ETH and a set of the most traded Stock Tokens - back perpetuals positions.

Perpetuals on Arcus are margined in USDG, and deposited USDG is always used first.

When an account's margin or loss-cover needs go beyond it, the shortfall is borrowed automatically against eligible deposited assets, like a margin loan against the holdings.

As those needs shrink - positions close, or trades move favorably - the loan shrinks with them. Interest accrues on any outstanding loan balance.

Multi-Asset Collateral is in early access and rolling out to all traders over the coming weeks.
