# What do "LTV," "utilization," and "maintenance threshold" in the Margin window mean?

* **Initial LTV** (50% for all): how much loan each deposited asset can support e.g. \$10,000 of SPY gives \$5,000 of loan capacity.
* **Loan Utilization:** how much of your capacity the current loan is using.
* **Maintenance LTV:** the threshold on loan-vs-collateral value past which the account becomes eligible for liquidation. The gap between your utilization and that threshold is your buffer.
