# What’s the trading mechanism for spot assets on Arcus?

The trading mechanism depends on the type of asset traded on spot:

* Stock Tokens are traded via request-for-quote (RFQ): market makers price the specific trade, the best quote is selected, and the trade settles on-chain.
* Non Stock Tokens are traded via router to liquidity pools.
