# Do I get dividends?

Stock Token holders are exposed to the economic effect of dividends without receiving any dividends directly.

A declared dividend on an underlying asset will not be paid out to token holders directly.

Instead, the monetary value of a dividend payment is reinvested in the underlying stock backing the token, and your displayed balance is adjusted accordingly.

This effect is executed globally for the Stock Token via an on-chain oracle, and no action is required on the part of token holders.
