# How is my price set?

When you request a trade, Arcus polls the best available price across market makers and returns an estimated quote.

Signing approves an intent rather than a locked price. Execution can settle slightly better or worse than the estimate, but never worse than the minimum that you agreed to (i.e. your slippage tolerance).
