# Do corporate actions affect Equity Perps?

Corporate actions are handled automatically at the protocol level.

Splits adjust position size and entry price proportionally; cash dividends are credited to longs and debited from shorts on the ex-date; M\&A and spin-offs trigger settlement or position adjustment depending on the deal.

The perp tracks the underlying's economics with no action required from traders.
