# Do corporate actions affect Equity Perps?

Corporate actions are handled automatically at the protocol level.

Splits adjust position size and entry price proportionally; M\&A and spin-offs trigger settlement or position adjustment depending on the deal.

In future, cash dividends will be credited to longs and debited from shorts on the ex-date (currently, it is incumbent on market makers to price the perps price and funding to reflect dividend payments).
