# How are positions netted?

Arcus runs in net mode - positions on the same market combine into one.

Buy 1 NVDA-PERP then sell 0.5, and you hold a single 0.5 long, not two positions.

Netting keeps margin accounting simple and is standard for institutional perp venues.
