# What are maker fees?

Charged on orders that add liquidity - limit orders that rest until matched. Makers build market depth, so the fee structure rewards them with lower fees and, at higher volume tiers, rebates.

During beta, maker fees are zero for Tiers 0 through 4, and the rebates at Tiers 5 and 6 apply as usual.

Levels are published in the fee schedule and can also be accessed via the [Portfolio dashboard](https://app.arcus.xyz/portfolio) on Arcus.
